“As an active member of the Pre-Alumni Council, I have built so many relationships with the advisors and students while also networking with alumni that my true hopes after graduation is to become a part of the ASU National Alumni Association. Why would I not want to electrify the current that sparked a change in my life as a whole?

…To wrap it up, I appreciate the generosity of the ASU National Alumni Association for presenting this scholarship for next semester. This is yet another opportunity for a student to become more confident, less stressed, and equally yoked with the love for Albany State University due to the concerns of our alum.

Mr. Savion J. Knight, a first-generation college student, is native of Gordon, Ga. He is a Junior at Albany State University (ASU) majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Computer Science. He stated the following:

“Along with this, many of my peers fell prey to the societal gaps, choosing paths that ultimately led to incarceration. It was these factors that led me to choose an alternative path; one that would ultimately produce a positive outcome for me and my family.”

“…I am proud to boast about my university to my community and other high school students, reaching out to possible interest into coming to Albany State University. The unique talent I have to offer is being a liaison to the local high school seniors in my community by encouraging them to attend Albany State University due to the limited opportunities in my hometown.”

Congratulations to Mr. Savion J. Knight and Ms. Briana J. Adams!
